If I won the lottery, I would definitely go back, without a second thought.
We flew into Sharjah airport, and were lucky enough to read someone’s review, about travelling between Sharjah and Dubai.
Although literally next door to each other, during the rush hours its a good few hours round trip.
Taxis here are plentiful and very reasonable, probably the best way to get around, We used Careem and Uber both excellent and you can pay online.
Dubai, originally a small pearl diving, and fishing village, set on the banks of a creek. It has grown out of nothingness.
Having been lucky enough to visit both, Las Vegas and Dubai, I really think they are very similar.
Both are set in arid desert regions, and literally are man made.
- The hotels
- the area
- the attractions
- the wealth
- If you have the money its a millionaires playground.
Obviously, the discovery of oil helped to dramatically enhance the area.
There is an abundance of things to see and do. We managed to fit in the following :
- The Frame
- The Dubai Mall
- Ain Ferris wheel
- Dubai Fountain
- Museum of the future
- The Burj Khalifa
- Dubai aquarium
- Dubai mall Cheesecake factory
There are obviously so many other attractions, museums, and historical places to visit, but sadly we only had 3 days.
Dubai aquarium inside the mall, complete with scuba divers.
Hop on hop off bus trip
An excellent way to see all the major attractions and explore all areas of Dubai.
We booked a 48 hour pass, which included a small boat trip, on the creek in the old town.
Eating out
This can be whatever experience you want, any cuisine, any price, any type of establishment.
We found the food was great, but we enjoy eating at local restaurants, with local people, obviously a huge Indian population here which is reflected in the food outlets.
